Hello, everyone. It’s getting colder little by little every day, isn’t it?

There have been days that feel as if we’ve skipped right over fall and gone straight into winter, so I imagine some of you may be feeling under the weather.

So, what I’d like to introduce today is a new collection of traditional Japanese jewelry that we’ve created.

As a devout person, I absolutely love Buddhist statue-inspired items, so this is a motif I’ve been suggesting to the artisans on a regular basis.

Now that I've finally managed to get it together, I'd like to introduce it right away.

First, I’ll create the WAX prototype, which I’ve introduced here before.

We'll use this rubber mold to create the prototype.

Next, I'll make a silver prototype. Having a silver prototype on hand will allow me to use it later if the rubber mold wears out or if I need to make customizations.

In this way, we produce and store two types of molds: rubber molds and silver molds. This allows us to produce as many identical items as we want, whenever we want.

The item shown in this image is the silver prototype.

At this point, there’s one more step involved. Although it’s a small pendant, about 2 cm in length, if I were to make it out of solid gold, it would weigh quite a few grams. Given its size, the price would be fairly high—it would end up costing a fair bit—so I’ll create a hollow rubber mold and a silver prototype as well.

To accommodate 18-karat gold, we use a hollow structure to keep the weight down and maintain a good balance with the size.

This process will reduce the weight to about half.

This is a hollow silver prototype; the base will be brazed after the final product is completed.

Now that we've reached this point, it's finally time to start crafting with 18K gold.
