Miyaburo BASEL WORLD 2019 Study Tour
The "Food on Business Trips" Series 😬
Hello, everyone! 😃
Today, I'm introducing some food!
The other day, I stopped in Germany on my way to Baselworld 2019, and I’d like to start by talking about the food I had in Frankfurt, where I stayed on the first night. Since Frankfurt is a major city, my expectations were high—the bar was set pretty high—but it managed to live up to them to a certain extent.
Well, if you ever go to Frankfurt, feel free to use this as a reference ^_^

It's located near Lehmann Square. There's even a German gin shop nearby!

The dishes marked with the light blue line are schnitzel and potato dishes. Anyway, potatoes are served nonstop from morning till night 😁
The portions are generally huge! In the back, an elderly man in his 80s was sitting alone and polished off a whole plate in no time.
Would you say a "Schenitzel" is like a cutlet in Japan? I guess you could call it a firm cutlet.
The red line represents German meat dishes, right? The sausages were delicious, too~
The dish with the purple line seems to be a famous dish topped with a sauce that tastes like sour cream, and it seemed a little sour to me.

The portions of the desserts are generous, but the rich flavor is just perfect!
There's also a teddy bear shop in the neighborhood. I hear they originated in Germany~

As you can see if you look at the map, this place is also close to Lehmann Square.

That stuffed animal was pretty pricey, wasn't it?
Next, a photo from when I ate Japanese food at a department store in Frankfurt
There were quite a few Japanese people working there, which put my mind at ease a bit.

The location is the basement food court here in Frankfurt, isn't it? 🤓

It's a far cry from the atmosphere of a Japanese supermarket, but I guess you could call it a supermarket-style place.
There were also spring rolls! At first, I thought, “This looks so gross 😭,” but the taste was totally normal.
This place also offers takeout, and it was pretty crowded.
Well, there’s a spot on the roof of this department store where you can look out over Frankfurt ☺️

Apparently, the "SKYLINE" engraved on the rotor of the Sinn 6000 Series case back is based on this design 😁

Hmm... They kind of look alike, I guess...
This is the back cover of this year's new model, isn't it!

This looks so cool! I just love the blue ^_^
This is scheduled to arrive in May and will be available at our store too! It’s a limited edition of only 200 bottles, so don’t wait too long! 😱
Well, finally, let's move on to Switzerland and talk about the food in Orten.
It's just so crowded here! It was a really popular place, wasn't it? 😌

There were so many people that they spilled out onto the street 😁
They're actually famous for their hamburgers, but those were just average 😂

The staff here don't speak English, so it's really tough 😭

This is the place—since Orten is pretty rural, this must be the coolest downtown area around!
This mushroom sauce is so good! It's really tasty when you dip some bread in it and eat it~
I mentioned earlier that potato dishes go on from morning till night, but this time, they’re finely chopped potatoes that have been stir-fried and pressed into a patty—something like what we’d call “hash browns” in Japan, I suppose?
Oh, right—I almost forgot ^_^
Just as a little bonus—since my flight had a layover in Helsinki, I came across something I really liked there that’s kind of like a side dish, so I’m posting it here!

That's expensive 😂

You know those weird convenience store meals you see in foreign movies—the ones where you can’t even tell what you’re eating? There’s a layer of thin, long grains of rice that look like vegetables at the bottom, and when you mix it all together and eat it, it’s actually really good! 🤗
I've always wanted to try something like this! It seems like it could get addictive 😭
Well, that wraps up the "Nothing to Say, Just Food" series!
If I find anything else interesting, I'll post it here, so stay tuned!
Well then, bye-bye~ 😁
