Sinn watches—designed for firefighters—are back in stock after a long time!
I use it all the time, too.
The EZM7 model is a mission timer designed for special forces, developed in collaboration with senior fire inspectors—experts in firefighting.

It features a color-coded rotating bezel and dial design that allows firefighters and rescue teams to instantly read values ranging from CSA (when wearing chemical protective suits) to LPA (when using long-duration self-contained breathing apparatus). These values indicate the maximum permissible working time based on the German Fire Service Association manual and serve as the standard for rescue operations conducted by specialized counter-terrorism units.Packed with Zin’s proprietary technologies—including Tegiment coating, Dry Technology, and the use of special oils—this is a professional watch ideal for heavy-duty use. It also features a second time zone display, designed with rescue teams’ overseas deployments in mind.

The moment an emergency call comes in at the fire station, firefighters are required to be fully equipped. At fire scenes engulfed in flames and filled with toxic smoke and flammable gases, German firefighters are legally required to wear breathing apparatus. It is also essential to maintain an accurate, real-time understanding of which teams are inside the building and for how long, and to strictly adhere to the prescribed operation times. The team leader on scene monitors the breathing apparatus, while the commander standing by outside the danger zone must record who is wearing the breathing apparatus and when it was activated, and must notify the team via radio when one-third and two-thirds of the estimated time has elapsed. To meet these on-site requirements, and with the expert guidance of Senior Fire Inspector Tomáš Stanké, Zin developed the EZM7 mission timer—a device that tracks operational time in compliance with the German Fire Service Operational Manuals (FwDV7 and FwDV500).

Standard Decontamination and Pulse Check
When conducting NBC (nuclear, biological, and chemical) decontamination operations, the team leader must use the green scale on the watch bezel to monitor the time remaining until standard decontamination (typically Level II = DEKON II) is performed. According to regulations, the effective time for Level II is 15 minutes from the moment rescue team members enter the danger zone.Furthermore, treating individuals who have been transported to the site is a critical task for team members. When checking a pulse, the “pulse x 4” function on the EZM7 allows for quick measurement.

Visual indicators on the dial and a color-coded rotating bezel
The three-color scale on the dial allows you to see at a glance the critical time frames for rescue operations requiring breathing apparatus and NBC (nuclear, biological, and chemical) decontamination operations. When used in conjunction with the rotating bezel, which features the same color scheme, you can quickly set and read the most critical time frames for firefighting and rescue operations.

The EZM7’s rotating bezel features a unidirectional rotation mechanism, similar to that found on diver’s watches. This ensures that even if the bezel is accidentally rotated, the duration will never exceed the maximum allowed time (the worst-case scenario is that the activity time will be rounded up). It is also designed to be easy to operate even when wearing thick gloves.

Green: Dekon II (Standard Decontamination Time) 15 minutes
Green/Yellow: CSA (Chemical Protective Suit Wear Time) 20 minutes
Yellow: PA (Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus Duration) 30 minutes
Red: LPA (Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus Extended Duration) 60 minutes

The round markers in green, yellow, and red are positioned to indicate one-third and two-thirds of the respective maximum operating times.

A Note from the Shop Owner: I’ve been using this watch myself for about 10 years. No matter how much I use it, it remains sturdy, and thanks to its Tegiment coating, it doesn’t get scratched. The dial is easy to read, so I use it every day with complete peace of mind.In particular, when I travel to Germany on business to buy watches, the GMT function helps me keep track of Japanese time and stay in touch with headquarters. Since it’s water-resistant to 200 meters, I can wash my hands while wearing it, and with its 80,000 A/m anti-magnetic protection, I can safely keep it on even when it’s stacked with my laptop and cell phone—it’s incredibly handy. The dial and bezel feature a subtle touch of color, which sets it apart from the EZM (emergency response measuring equipment) used by firefighters —I really enjoy its stylish color scheme.
By the way, I've posted a picture comparing the EZM7 I've been using for 10 years with the one in stock at the store, so please take a look! As you can see, it has hardly changed at all because it has a Tegiment coating.
On the right is my favorite EZM7.

At first glance, you can't tell them apart.

The bezel has developed a slight sheen, but there are absolutely no scratches.

There are no scratches on the rug areas that see a lot of wear or on the corners of the belt.

A design that remains unchanged even after 10 years is proof that it is a timeless masterpiece.
