Both models feature a domed, curved sapphire crystal with the same shape as traditional acrylic crystals. The sapphire crystals are cut from a 5-mm-thick solid glass block using specially crafted cutting tools to achieve five different radii of curvature, and are then carefully polished.

The rotor, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, or the edge of the case, is engraved with the German phrase “Eine von 500” (one of 500).
